There’s more to easyJet than just low-cost, quality travel and setting off into the sunset for the holiday of a lifetime, you know. easyJet‘s also got a fascinating fleet of fantastic flying machines.

Not only that, easyJet’s is one of the youngest fleets in the whole industry, with 320 Airbus A320 family aircraft in operation.

So what are they flying?

The classic A320 is the fleet's stalwart aircraft

There’s the Airbus A319 – our smallest capacity plane with 156 seats, a CFM56-5B engine (capable of cruising at 520mph) and a range of 1,711 miles. We’ve got 93 of those.

Then there’s the bulk of our fleet, the Airbus A320, which has a few more seats, the same engine and speed, but a range of 2,445 miles. We’ve rather more of these: 167 to be exact.

Any more?

The A321neo is the most advanced plane easyJet runs

Then, there are the ‘neo’ aircraft. First, the A320neo: with CFM LEAP-1A engines and wingtip ‘Sharklets’ – that is, extra up-turned tips on the wings that reduce drag and minimise fuel consumption – that can travel a cool 2,520 miles with 186 people on board. We’ve got these to spare: 43 in total.

Then, the newest addition is the A321neo – with a similar technical spec to the A320neo, but with a capacity of 235 passengers and a giant range of 4,598 miles. Numbers-wise, it’s the baby of the fleet; just 15 of them in all.
