One side of Vienna makes for a seriously swanky city getaway. Its impressive musical heritage – the composers Mozart and Beethoven both had homes here – lives on today, with several ornate opera houses hosting performances. Meanwhile, beautiful museums like the Kunsthistorisches, with its imperial art collection, and the Baroque Hofburg Palace showcase the city’s rich history.

But beyond its good looks Vienna is also really good fun: take a tour of one of the city’s vineyards (yes, really), guzzle beer and scoff schnitzel in an underground bar or scream your heart out on a rollercoaster at the Prater amusement park, before tucking into a big slice of cake in a coffee house. Take it easy or pack it all in – you’ll soon see what the buzz is about.
