Corralejo in the north is perfect for beginners with its shallow ocean lagoon, while Costa Calma down south is possessed of great surf schools and a buzzy atmosphere.
And when you’re not zipping along the water you’ll want to check out the island’s otherworldly sun-scorched landscape, or its unusual museums, including the Majorero Cheese Museum, which pays homage to the history of the island and the beloved majorera goat with a virtual goat-milking section – popular with kids and adults, alike.
