In partnership with Titanic Belfast
Belfast was the Titanic’s home when the mighty vessel was built between 1909 and 1911 – and it still is today. This means that no trip to Northern Ireland’s capital is complete without discovering more about RMS Titanic’s incredible story.
Luckily, you can do exactly that on the site of the ship’s construction. Located just 100 metres from where the Titanic’s hull was built – and where it launched in 1911 – the Titanic Belfast visitor attraction tells the story of the world-famous ship through the eyes of the people whose hard work and ambition built her.
It’s become an unmissable day out for anyone visiting Belfast, so to help you get the most from your time there, here are six activities and experiences to tick off.
1. Take a selfie with the Titanic sign

Start your day by creating some memories with a photo opp at the famous Titanic sign. Fun fact: the sign weighs 15 tonnes, which is the same as Titanic’s main anchor.
2. Discover the full story in the Titanic Experience
The self-guided Titanic Experience is the best way of discovering the story of RMS Titanic. Following a £4.7 million refresh last year that reimagined the experience, visitors can see more, hear more and feel more, as new light is shed on Titanic’s story.
You’ll be able to see original artefacts from the Titanic, including the famous violin belonging to the ship’s hero musician, Wallace Hartley. Then there’s the 7.6-metre-long scale model of RMS Titanic, which rotates and illuminates in-sync with state-of-the-art projections, as the ‘Ship of Dreams’ comes to life in this spectacular and immersive experience.
