Headed a bit further afield? The EDITION Reykjavik is Iceland’s luxest new bolthole.

Or if it’s London that’s calling, The Mitre is a glorious country-meets-city escape.

What is it?

Spacious rooms offer distinct living and sleeping spaces

A functional four-star with room to spare.

What's the deal?

Fully-kitted bathrooms are amply sized

When you’re on a step-count-swelling city break, sometimes all you need is a nice, clean, comfortable, and spacious place to kick up your blistered feet at the end of the day. DUPARC Contemporary Suites – in the hip, and quiet, San Salvario district – easily ticks all of those boxes. It’s the ideal base for an active, out-from-dawn-till-dusk holiday, straddling the line between hotel luxury and home comforts to deliver a super-comfortable stay.

As its name suggests, DUPARC is an all-suite hotel housed in a glass-fronted, rationalist 70s high rise, which means that each of its rooms is very generously proportioned. All feature distinct living and sleeping spaces, while some also boast kitchenettes and dining areas. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure rooms are flooded with light, and the marble-decked bathrooms are almost outrageously large, complete with splashy soaking tubs and walk-in rain showers.

The basement spa features a whirlpool, sauna, and wet room, as well as multiple treatment rooms. An American-style buffet breakfast – perfect for fuelling up before a long day of exploring – is included in your stay and served in the hotel restaurant. While the interiors could use an update – black lacquer furniture, turquoise couches, and faux-brick walls all scream early 2000s – they’re pared back enough to be rendered inoffensive. All in all, DUPARC is a dream stay for city breakers after a capacious, comfortable stay.
