Join the Joy in Naples: Enjoy the best sunsets

No trip to Naples would be complete without a visit to the timeless Castel dell’Ovo. This ancient fortress serves as a cracking viewing point, offering up panoramic sights over the blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. With its wealth of seaside spots, it can seem ludicrous to venture away from the sea when in Naples. But, with height comes a selection of truly terrific views. Tucked away in the upscale Posillipo neighbourhood, this leafy vantage point offers panoramic views over the bay. Sunsets here must be seen to be believed. Claim a spot on a grassy knoll – with a blanket in case it gets chilly – and witness the sky come alight above you. Afterwards, take a wander through Posillipo’s winding streets lined with elegant villas and hidden gardens, or indulge in some world-class Mediterranean fare and a delicious Aperol Spritz at one of the area’s many acclaimed restaurants.

This grandiose piazza, located in the heart of Naples’ historic centre, is home to some of the cities’ great landmarks. But you don’t have to come here in the height of daytime to see it in its full glory. As the sun begins to set, visitors can find a spot on one of the many benches that line the square or settle into a sidewalk café for front-row seats and an Aperol Spritz to enjoy the main event.
